Artist & Storyteller

Renée has always been a storyteller—through childhood plays, and later as a professional storyteller, documentary photographer, museum educator, children’s librarian and now a painter who is trying to help save the planet.

She is passionate about family, friends, animals, travel and color. Her extensive travel has given her a unique perspective on life and introduced her to the fact that the Earth and its inhabitants are already in trouble.

Renée earned a BA in art from UC Berkeley and an MA in Library Science from San Jose State University. She has lived in the San Francisco Bay Area since she was 12 and in the Napa Valley since 1979. Renée considers education through classes and travel a lifelong project.

Reviews

“I stopped in my tracks at your exhibition. It was so inspiring to see art as social commentary so distinctly represented, and so vividly executed - I couldn't move for several minutes while I took everything in.”

I love your works of art that you shared – their dazzling colors and evocative, dream-like images speak deeply to me about the nature of the threat, the beast we face.”

“Beautiful and whimsical in such a lovely way! I am so excited about them! I adore the "Monsters We Made."
